We live in a fast paced society that wants everything done now. In our work place we may often have a boss that demands everything done yesterday. In your spiritual life are you a slow-cooker or a microwave? Many times I catch myself wanting God to answer me in a microwave fashion. If my prayers are not answered quickly enough, I often wonder, why is God taking so long. So, many times I set out on my own to fix it! Isn’t it hard to wait on God’s timing?

When we are in the Slow-Cooker mode we can pray and rest in the knowledge that God is in control, and His timing is best. Many times He has to let us simmer, before He will answer us.I can think of many situations where I was so thankful for unanswered prayers.

Scripture tells us of many times where God worked in both Microwave and Slow-Cooker modes . Daniel in the lion’s den is a perfect example of God acting “quickly” in a microwave mode to shut the lion’s mouth. God also worked in a Slow-Cooker mode when He allowed the people of Jericho to march around the the wall for 7 days, just to save one woman and her family.

So, I ask you what mode is your spiritual life in? Are you on fire and cooking quickly for the Lord, or are you simmering slowly and not making a lot of progress?

Remember, God is in control, even when everything around you say’s He’s not! Trust God’s timing and believe He knows what’s best for you!

Let me hear from you………

Love and Laughter,

I’m sure all of your moms have a favorite quote, or a special tone that scolds or teaches you a lesson. As a child I grew up hating them, but know that Im an adult, I really miss them.

Even though we hated our mom’s being so harsh in their advise, ironically we all use the same momisms on our kids.

Here are a few of my moms special sayings:

* Don’t make that face, or it’ll freeze in that position

*Close that door…Were you born in a born?

*If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all

* Because, I’m your mother, that’s why

* I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!

* Wait till you have kids of your own!

*Because, I said so!

* Just wait till your father gets home.

It has been two years now, since I lost my mom. I would give anything to hear her say a “mom”ism to me again!

Heavenly Father,

I ask your blessings on all those women to whom you have entrusted motherhood. May your Holy Spirit constantly inspire and strengthen them. Watch over every mother who is with child, strengthen her faith in your care, and loove for her and her unborn baby. Give her courage in times of fear, and hope in times of uncertainty.

We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen

P.S. Would love to hear some of your mom stories and momisms.

Staying sane in a world that’s filled with stress and constant demands can be difficult-just downright impossible at times.I just read a medical survey that stated two-thirds of all medical problems are stress-related. OMG!

If stress is controlling your life, it’s time to put it in it’s place. The first step in alleviating stress is acknowledging you have a problem. Recognize that stress has taken a hold and then determine to do something about it. Start by focusing on your priorities so you can ease the feelings of anxiety and set boundaries to bring balance to your life.

Most of all, find time for yourself, whether it’s escaping with a good book, meditating, taking a bubble bath or walking around the block for some exercise.

Life will never be a bed of roses all the time. But it can be more manageable if you focus on what is important, slow down and concentrate on taking care of yourself.

Remember, you can control your life, and how you react to it. Take time to treat yourself like the beautiful deserving woman you are!

I would love to hear , how you deal with the stresses in your life!

“You” are Special!

Screech!

It’s just me slamming on my brakes in the middle of my crazy schedule.

Go ahead, hit your brakes……take a deep breath. Now, doesn’t that feel “Great” even for just a moment?

Opportunities in this life will always be plentiful. They always have, and they always will, but here’s the kicker: when given the chance, busyness will eat your lunch. Doing to much will strip our gears and drain our energy tank.

A crammed lifestyle, will do one more thing, it will convince us that we are only as valuable as what we can achieve in one day.

I love a sense of accomplishment, but one thing I have learned along this journey, is that even good intentions can leave us harried if we have taken on more than we should.

It’s not wrong to have a full life or even a busy schedule, but when it cost you time away from your faith and family, it’s time to re-evaluate. We must make sure we are not trying to live out others expectations of us.

So, girlfriends, please join this adrenalin-addicted hairdresser junky, as I sit in the shelter of the truth, written in Psalms 46:10, “Be Still and Know that He is God”.

For it is the only there I can calm down, and find “Peace” and “Purpose”.

LOL,

Cherie

What are you waiting for? A new job, a baby, a husband, restoration of a marriage, a healing?

Waiting for me is one of the most difficult things to do, whether I’m waiting for a bus, a phone call,or an answer to a prayer. It seems like the more I want something, the harder it is to wait.

We have to remember that God’s timing is different than ours. He see’s things from a different perspective, because He see’s the whole picture.

There are many stories of “ waiting” in the Bible. In many of these stories it seemed they had to wait forever, then other times it was just a few moments.

We must look with confidence toward the journey He has for us, trusting that God will fulfill our “waiting” in the proper time.

When crises arise and we feel anxious about tomorrow, our natural response is to take matters into our own hands and react accordingly, never giving any thought as to what God’s plan may be.

Learning to consult God first is a “Learned Trait that requires much discipline on our part as Christ followers.”

Three actions that will help you wait patiently, and with faith, know and believe that God will deliver His promises.

1. Trust-He is the same yesterday, today and tommorrow, and we can depend on Him.

2.Resist- Resist the temptation to take matters into our own hands.

3.Pray- God will always answer, it may not be the way we want, or expect.

I would love for you to share some things you have experienced, when you didn’t wait on God!

(FREE book give-away will be drawn from people who make comments . Be sure to give a mailing address.)

No one wants to be ignored or overlooked in any way Sometime we assume our value is determined by what we do, or can achieve. If I do well at my job, I will be promoted. If I’m pleasant, and say the right things people will love to be around me. The earthly system is easily understood by all of us. If our performance is good, we are accepted and loved.

Love is difficult to define. It is one of those things we cannot touch, taste, see, hear or smell. Still, we try to catch it! The amazing thing about this God of the universe is that he does not use the performance system. Nothing we can do or say will make Him love you less. You are CHOOSEN,by Him.Isn’t that amazing, when you think about it. You don’t have to do anything to earn His love, just accept it!

Have you ever thought starting this year with a “Theme” instead of a New Year’s resolution? You might think about choosing your theme, to reflect what’s going on in your life right now. It can reflect something that happened the previous year, or maybe something God is leading you towards,or it might be a whole new direction. For example, maybe 2009 was a time that you were worn to a frazzle, so your theme for 2010 might be ” Quiet and Still”. This might mean you will have to say the dreaded word “NO” to several people.

Let me suggest some idea’s for your Theme-To Laugh More,Simplify My Life,Surrender, Smell the Roses, Find My Passion, or maybe Exercise More.

Ask God to direct you toward selecting your theme. Be excited about it! Place notes around your house, on your computer,or maybe on your bathroom mirror, to remind yourself about your Theme.

My Theme for 2010 is “Do It Afraid”. God is continually opening doors for me to walk through, and sometimes it scares me to death. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I Know The Plans I Have For You”. I can’t wait to see what God is up too!

Be sure to share with me your THEME for 2010!!!
