God saved me from a life of self-destruction.
My call to this ministry was a gradual process that began after my salvation experience on September 14, 1997. I had just turned forty years old and gone thru my second divorce. I had attended church all my life, but never had accepted Jesus Christ. I had heard of this man all my life, but this day He became more than words on the page of history, He became my Savior. He changed my heart, and opened my eyes to the truth that comes from His word.
After that day, I began to feel the call to minister, and help women who have felt the pain of feeling unloved, or unworthy of love, because of past mistakes. As I received the Lord’s healing in my life and began to grow in Him, I felt the abundance of joy in my salvation.
I tried everything to fill the emptiness and loneliness in the depths of my soul. I believe the Lord used and continues to use my mistakes as examples of how He can change a life.
He has taken my messes, and made a message about His love and forgiveness. I believe and teach that regardless of a person’s background or personal mistakes, God has a plan for their life. Isaiah 43:18-19 says “Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already- you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.”
I have surrendered to God’s call, and will follow wherever He leads. It is amazing how he continues to open doors for me to write and speak, and to connect with kindred spirits at events and conferences for women. I am working and waiting, talking and listening, and always seeking God’s direction for this ministry. Whatever doors God opens for me, I’m walking through—( I know God laughs, when I make too many plans!)
In my spare time you might find me hanging out on the golf course with my amazing husband, Jim and our dog, Harley. The rest of my time is spent in the kitchen cooking for our four children, two hungry son-in-laws and two fabulous grandchildren.
This sometimes worn-out hairdresser still loves to tell the “Secrets” she has learned from behind her chair. Secret’s that help women to be content, peaceful and strong even in difficult times.
